General Litigation Experience

Mr. Winter has more than twenty (20) years in public and private practice. He has a peer-review certification rating of BV from Martindale-Hubbell. His trials and litigation experience includes civil rights, products liability, personal injury, employment law, medical negligence, domestic relations and administrative law. His work includes five years as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Albuquerque representing various city departments in trial and appellate litigation. Mr. Winter has also assisted in handling matters as outside litigation counsel for the State of New Mexico (Risk Management Division).

Mr. Winter is admitted to practice in the State Bar of New Mexico, United States District Court (District of New Mexico), United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Winter’s litigation experience has included the representation of such enterprises as Hyatt Corporation (Hyatt Regency Albuquerque/Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa), National Education Association (New Mexico), Group 1 Automotive, and Albuquerque Publishing Co. He has represented a number of insurance clients or their insureds, including Safeco Insurance Companies, AAA New Mexico, Universal Underwriters Insurance Company, Lawyer’s Protector Plan, and Attorney Liability Protection Society. Mr. Winter formerly served on the Board of Editors of the New Mexico Bar Bulletin. He also serves on the New Mexico Medical Review Commission.
